Frances, You did a nice job with posting your materials. The site analysis is almost convincing: just clarify what you mean by "soft" spaces (trees and their effect on light,microclimate etc) and include some comments on the "hard" effects as well and condense the info on one board and you will be there.
Your emphasis on water will then set up as an extention of the positive effect of the softness. Greenery and trees should feature prominently in your project as well as a response to your analysis.
